To avoid such a situation, they would now play their final game at their beloved home ground on May 18 against Southampton and the club are making efforts to ensure that it remains a standalone fixture.
Everton will shift their base to Bramley-Moore Dock at the end of the 2024-25 season bidding goodbye to the 131-year-old Goodison Park.
Sean Dyche's side begin the new season on Saturday, August 17 against Brighton at home while they will play their final game of the season at St. James' Park against Newcastle.
